Cosmetic Dentistry for Improved Asthetics

One of the most common concerns we hear from our patients is a lack of self-confidence in their smile. This concern can be caused by a variety of reasons, including teeth that are damaged or missing, a smile that is uneven or gummy, or teeth are stained or discolored. If you currently have feelings of self-doubt or discontentment with the appearance of your smile, you may be a good candidate for a cosmetic dental procedure.

Cosmetic dentistry is a specialized field focused on helping patients achieve or return their smile to its desired aesthetic state. In addition to helping you achieve your aesthetic goals, we are also committed to ensuring that we help you develop a smile that is as optimally healthy and functional as possible, so you will enjoy a smile that is both aesthetically pleasing and structurally healthy and strong.

At Kingwood Family & Cosmetic Dentistry, we offer a full scope of cosmetic dentistry procedures, ranging from veneers and teeth whitening to bridges, crowns, and dental implants. Which Procedure Is Right for Me?

To determine which cosmetic procedure or procedures are the best fit to meet your unique needs, we will help you create a cosmetic dental treatment plan. During this initial consultation, we will discuss your personal goals and perform an evaluation of your mouth. This initial evaluation may include X-rays, radiographs, photographs, bite analysis, and/or a comprehensive oral exam. Once this is complete, we will discuss your specific cosmetic goals, what procedures we believe are best suited to help you meet those goals in a manner compatible with your budget, and that will ensure the functionality of your teeth remains optimal. Once this has been established, a follow up appointment(s) will be scheduled and you will begin the process of achieving the smile you have been dreaming of.

Minimizing Cosmetic Dentistry

Although certain aesthetic aspects of your smile and the appearance of your teeth and gums are simply the result of genetic predisposition, oftentimes when teeth become stained or gums have receded, it is due to the patient not following good oral hygiene habits. To continue enjoying good oral health and reduce the need for cosmetic procedures in the future, it is important to continue brushing and flossing twice daily (at a minimum), be mindful of the types of food and beverages you consume, and avoid foods or substances that can negatively impact your oral health (chewing tobacco, staining foods, sugary drinks) It is equally important to schedule regular dental exams every six months, or more frequently, depending upon your unique oral health needs. If you follow these general guidelines, you will enjoy a healthy, attractive smile for many years to come!

Cost and Insurance for Cosmetic Dentistry

The cost of cosmetic dentistry will depend upon what type and how many procedures you are having performed and what insurance coverage from your dental plan can be applied. It is important to be aware that if the cosmetic procedure you are having performed does not also improve functionality, it may not be covered by your plan.

It is also important to be aware that you are fully responsible for all fees and payment is due at the time of service, regardless of your insurance coverage. Monthly payment plans can be arranged, but this will need to be established prior to the procedure being performed. Although we will not have a contractual arrangement with your provider, our staff is happy to assist with processing your insurance claim to ensure that you maximize your benefits and receive the high-quality care you need and deserve. For your convenience, we accept Mastercard, Visa and Discover.
